Congratulations on your engagement! To tell you a bit about my ceremonies, they are very friendly and professional but can have a relaxed vibe depending on what type of ceremony you are looking for. I will work together with you to create a ceremony which will reflect both of your personalities, vibes and your love story. A Ceremony Designed Just For You.
A marriage ceremony is a legally binding union between two people who wish to celebrate their love and commitment to each other by joining in marriage. I will attend to all the legal documentation both before and after your marriage and make sure that all legal requirements during your ceremony are met. Most importantly, it is your Wedding Day and I will conduct the type of service that you want and am happy to help you in any way I can and offer advice when needed.
The basic Marriage ceremony fee starts at $650. You are very welcome to include your own vows, special poems/verses, or you may simply like to choose these from my information pack. We can also add in anything else that may be important to you such as a special dedication, acknowledgement or ceremony ritual, e.g. sand ceremony or lighting of candles (these may include additional fees).
IMPORTANT NOTE: All couples in Australia wishing to marry MUST be over the age of 18 and MUST submit a Notice of Intent to Marry (NOIM) form at least one month prior to the date of the intended marriage. The form is to be submitted to your chosen marriage celebrant, at least one month before the marriage occurs and no more than 18 months before the marriage occurs. (Please ask celebrant for more details)
1. Contact me by clicking 'Book Ceremony' on this website, via phone call or email to find out if your chosen wedding date is available. You may also have questions regarding my services or would like an information pack.
2. We will then discuss some details for the ceremony and if your ceremony date is available, you can sign the Terms of Agreement and pay deposit to lock in your date (or full payment of service can be made at this time).
3. I will send you a Wedding checklist to fill out and return to me.
4. We can then arrange a meeting to complete and lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage (must be completed at least one month prior to ceremony date, and no longer than 18 months prior).
5. Once the Notice of Intended Marriage is complete, you pay the lodgement fee (if full payment hasn't already been made for service).
6. After discussions with you regarding your ceremony, the script for the ceremony will be written up and a draft sent to you. Any changes or other incorperations you would like made to the script will need to be sent to the celebrant by the agreed date.
7. The ceremony details and script will be finalised. Remaining funds to be paid to celebrant, no less than 2 weeks prior to the ceremony (if full payment hasn't already been made for service).
8. We will organise a time as close to the ceremony date as possible, to sign some legal documents. This is when you could hold a rehersal with your bridal party if you wish.
9. Ceremony day! I will see you down the aisle. All necessary legal marriage documents will be signed during or right after the ceremony (which ever we agree on).
10. You are officially married! You go off and enjoy your honeymoon bliss and your marriage will be lodged with the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages to identify that your marriage is legal.
11. Your marriage is now legally recognised. If you are wanting a Marriage Certificate (to change your name - looks like a birth certificate) you will need to apply for this yourself via the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages website - https://www.qld.gov.au/law/births-deaths-marriages-and-divorces/birth-death-and-marriage-certificates/marriage-certificates/fill-in-a-marriage-certificate-application-form
